PUBG Europe League Twitch Extension
PUBG is one of the most watched video games in the world. For the PUBG Europe League event, PUBG Corporation wanted to give as much as possible to their army of esports fans. Fluid led the initiative to conceptualise, design, develop and manage a unique tool that would enhance the Twitch experience for avid viewers. The objective was to offer a deeper sense of reward to fans, while retaining and increasing spectatorship of the live streams.
Our solution offered viewers the chance to support their esports team and react to in match activity, all in realtime. We crafted a series of bespoke PUBG emojis, which we obviously dubbed as Pubmojis, adding another layer to PUBG’s typically humorous tone. Viewers had the opportunity to acquire tokens by investing time in watching the Twitch stream, then use their hard earned tokens to unlock and cheer with Pubmojis.
A live feed showcased a constant stream of viewer Pubmoji reactions, which really amplified the community spirit. The extension was a huge success with almost 21 million Pubmoji cheers over the six weekends. Winner winner, chicken dinner!
