Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Promotion
Designed to ignite excitement around the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Activision’s Operation Euro Showdown Twitch campaign brings community engagement to the frontline, transforming spectators into active participants in the Chimera story.
Aired late November, the activation saw twelve top streamers - four each from the UK, France and Germany - battle it out head-to-head in a high-stakes live streamed multiplayer showdown. The event blended competition, community and reward in real time, giving viewers the chance to win high value prizes in a giveaway designed and run by Fluid’s digital team.
Community engagement is central to the Euro Showdown experience, so Twitch briefed Fluid’s digital team to design and run a real-time giveaway mechanic, powering a huge community prize draw.
Fans had the chance to win an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics cards during the live stream, so with massive numbers visiting and entering, our system architecture had to be robust - capable of handling huge spikes in traffic and thousands of simultaneous requests in a short space of time.
The Fluid team designed and built the custom microsite and real-time giveaway mechanic at the heart of the activation’s community rewards. Mid-event, streamers directed their audiences to the Fluid-built site, where fans had a five-minute window to enter the prize draw by completing a short form. As the countdown expired, the system automatically selected two winners who were announced live on air.
Behind the scenes, Fluid’s robust infrastructure delivered the stability and performance required to ensure a campaign of this scale ran flawlessly, delivering a seamless real-time experience for streamers, partners, and fans. The event performed brilliantly, coordinated with the Twitch Production team and Activision to deliver over 700 entrants within the 5 minute window. One lucky winner will be receiving a brand new AMD RADEON RX 9070 XT in the coming weeks.
