As Hollywood is to movies, so the leafy town of Guildford is to games. February sees Guildford Games Festival return to celebrate and nurture all things gaming - presenting the perfect opportunity for a look back at some favourite Fluid projects created for teams in the town.

From the mighty Media Molecule’s much loved LittleBigPlanet, to Synapse - nDreams’ seminal VR action thriller - via the vast beauty of Fractured Space from Edge Case Games, the Fluid team present for your delectation a small sample of some of our favourite Guildfordian projects.

Synapse creative - logo, name ideation, key art, brand and video guidelines

Brutal firepower, telekinesis, hostile mindscapes and an iconic art style - VR specialists nDreams tasked us with creation of a strong, unique visual identity for groundbreaking action thriller Synapse.

From name ideation, logo and key art through to brand and video guidelines, we incorporated elements of surrealism, action and mystery to create a visually striking style. Our creative built on the game’s unique monochromatic world, punctuated with vibrant bursts of colour, with the mind as the central pillar.

LittleBigPlanet - media kits

Puzzle platformer and home to Sackboy, LittleBigPlanet is one of Media Molecules most loved creations. Our media kit celebrated the launch of LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, LittleBigPlanet Karting and LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross Controller.

The kit - as unique, bright and tactile as the LBP universe itself - features Sackboy embossed on the outer, and leaping joyously from the gatefold interior. Select kits contained a bespoke moleskine notebook, alongside standard content including double sided art posters, asset disks and info art cards.

Fractured Space - Branding, logo, logo animation, key art and website

Featuring vast, lumbering starships and explosive space combat battles, MOBA Fractured Space needed creative branding as expansive, detailed and awe inspiring as the game itself. Our logo - complete with branding device acting as a shorthand for the game - speaks of futuristic worlds, with clean lines and missing elements hinting at combat.

Dynamic, vast and exciting, gigantic ships race through our key art, set against a stark background reflecting the duality of team based play in the expansive loneliness of space.
