SEGA Searchlight Identity

We've had the pleasure of working with SEGA on several of their biggest titles over the years, including the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog, The Total War franchise, Company of Heroes, Alien Isolation and more. So we were delighted when they approached us to do something a little different for them, and rebrand their publishing division, SEGA Searchlight.

Searchlight’s mission is to create long term partnerships with some of the most exciting developers in the industry and turn amazing ideas into even more amazing games. However, SEGA felt a brand refresh was necessary for Searchlight to be presented as the premium option for developers, and wanted the new brand to take advantage of SEGA’s extensive heritage whilst remaining professional and modern.

After experimenting with several different ideas, we presented SEGA with a subtle ‘S’ shaped logo with fresh new colours that fit within their brand identity, whilst also incorporating elements of light trailing behind the dots to represent the idea of a searchlight. In addition to creating the new logo, we also developed the brand guidelines and a sleek logo animation piece for SEGA to use across all their marketing materials. They were delighted with the results and Searchlight has been going from strength to strength since their new brand was created.
