With GDC taking over the baton for US games industry events, show first-timers Lewis and Oscar hopped the pond to beautiful San Francisco, to catch up with contacts old and new from across the gaming world.

Evolving far beyond its original remit as hook-up for devs, studios and publishers, the industry at large converged at Moscone, including a sizable marketing contingent keen to chat all things creative. The Fluid team caught up with contacts at PlayStation, Tencent, Krafton, Obsidian, Sharkmob, Thunderful, IMG, Lionsgate, Plarium, Kwalee, Ruckus and more, on a show floor buzzing with an infectious sense of optimism, unity and camaraderie.

Lewis and Oscar ran between meetings like pros, racking up 20k+ steps a day hustling in and out of the expo halls. A special highlight? Catching up in person with Neowiz, who had rented a private location for the duration of the event. Finally meeting face-to-face after collaborating on the Lies of P influencer kit and website to support their new DLC announcement was brilliant - building relationships like this is exactly what GDC is all about.

Beyond the show floor, the guys also made time to catch up on latest projects with San Fran based clients including Capcom and Ubisoft. After a whirlwind week, they were lucky to swerve the Heathrow closure chaos by the skin of their teeth.

Thanks San Fran, for an epic week. GDC, we’ll be back!
